Nothing wrong with straight edge. Nothing wrong with being drunk. It is all a matter of personal preference.

If being straight edge means you'll be as perfect as CM Punk, I'm in. The guy is the greatest of this current generation

Heh, so many people confuse the true mentality with the over-the-top CM Punk mentality. No, we're not all a bunch of X-wearing holier-than-thou types. Most straight edgers I know are just like everyone else except they don't really party.
I will say that Punk is just a couple of steps below Jesus Christ on the awesomeness scale though. That man is just awesome.

The peope that behave like CM Punk mostly existed in the late nineties when the straight edge thing became a little more mainstream. There was a lot of straight edgers beating on smokers, drinkies, druggies in the O.C back then. I haven't seen much of that since then. As said, most straight edgers are pretty down nowadays... every movement has a few bad apples who make them look bad though.
And CM Punk has done an incredible job playing both extremes of that movement. He is just a top caliber performer that no one currently can match (Jericho came close... but I'm convinced Punk is a combination of all the things that made wrestling great in the past.

CM Punk for Mania Main event at the very least... and he needs to have the World title more often.

I agree, that would be good. I never got to see him as the Heavyweight Champion. I stopped watching WWE for almost 2 and a half years. And just recently started watching it again about 6 months ago.

I'd like to see CM Punk as the champ again--with or without the Nexus, I don't care.
