Okay, there is something that has really been bugging me about a few RPs... which doesn't mean I'm right or that ANYBODY should change their style. In the end it is up to Harvey to judge the RPs and if this method works then that is cool but if it doesn't the person loses.
BUT....
How is it EVER helping RoR when most of the RP is a run down of a WWE PPV? This is eliminating any bias I have to my own personal "WWE doesn't exist in e-wrestling" theory which I know some might share and some might not. That not withstanding, I'm under the impression, that the wrestler's OWN career and their OWN match and their OWN fed should take precedence over another promotion's. It would be like me giving a run down of Pryde's whole card ... a fed I am not in at all... for a Cole RP against Natalie Burrows... who also is not in the fed. It doesn't add character development or match development. It seems counter-productive to what I personally consider the point of RPs... hyping the match.
Again, this is something that bugged me and is NOT me saying STOP IT... but would like some clarification on why this happens and why this is useful in an RP?

To be honest, I feel the EXACT same way. In my opinion, WWE or any other wrestling promotion does not exist in our efed world. I feel that anything you need to discuss about any real world wrestling PPV should be done on the Out Of Character boards.
Let me put it this way, if WWE and/or TNA, ROH and the host of other promotions out there are existent in our efed world...then who the hell are we? RoR, CWC and Rainbow Pro are what exists in our world. Perhaps a few other efeds as well. But if real world feds are being brought into character roleplays that completely dismantles every character here. Why? Because WWE/TNA etc does not give acknowledgment to efeds, therefore if we DO exist in the same world with them in character wise, we are bottom of the barrel.
That means Sarah Twilight, Rachel Cole, Justin Partial, etc etc are ALL nobodies and we might as well just forget what we do because the excitement we've created for our little world is overshadowed now.
I'll be honest, the moment I read the latest RP to mention WWE it made it clear to me that if I don't put up some sort of astronomically amazing RP, I have a very slim chance of getting a victory on this week's show. I guess I am finished ranting. But seriously, I am a bit bugged by the WWE in roleplays myself.

But how am I not going to know what happened at Elimination Chamber without a certain someone doing a review of it in their roleplay.

I'm not gonna go and devote a whole RP to a WWE event, but if they aren't directly interfering with the kayfabe of the fed, there is no reason to go crazy if someone wants to make a reference. We can't just take a black and white approach just because a couple of dummies don't know how to execute...
And if RoR has a TV deal on a network station, then how is it bottom of the barrel? Rainbow Pro is an indy, and RoR has a better TV deal than TNA, and it doesn't suck like TNA. So I think we need to take a look at aspects of building your fed to whatever level you wanted to be, rather than what it can't be all because of a couple promotions IRL.

Ok, I know who this is about and I am the one who Cole is talking about. The reason I did my picks of the WWE PPV is to show so human to Slade. That he watches TV and watches other wrestling companies. To be honest I don't see a problem with it. I am just trying to push some realism of the fed. Also, many and I mean many indy wrestlers talk about WWE and TNA ppvs. I do see the positives and the negatives of it. Also, the boss should step in this.

Well, it isn't anything I would imagine a FIRM decision would be made on. It is just one of those gray areas and matter of the handler's choice. This is NOT a big deal really... I just want to understand it as I don't think it helps your character as much hurt it. Especially when you go on about a WWE PPV more than your own match in the RP.
I am not saying lets "Ban" this style of RPing because that is irrational and I know that others like to add a little bit of real wrestling into their RPs. And I think you'd get Harvey's opinion on this matter... when you either win or lose said match. You'll see if this more focus on outside wrestlilng is effective or not.
... And about the indy wrestler thing. At this point, no one here is an indy wrestler... they are in what would be considered the big time. And assuming that we are taking WWE as canon, why would a wrestler in one big time fed promote a PPV from another big time fed?

Well, I have been in feds where they don't even rp about their match but about their life. With my RP style I like to push storylines and do character development with in match rps. I will once in awhile talk about my match. That is my rp style.

Okay, personally I don't mind mentioning WWE within the fed. Hell I've vaguely mentioned them in results once or twice if I recall correctly.
My opinion on this is that it is indeed a personal choice. However, whether or not this helps or hurts your chances all depends on how I feel about the rest of the RP as a whole.
I would disagree that it makes RoR looks like it's at the bottom of the barrel. The company has a pretty good TV deal with a top network so that would put them above ROH and arguablly TNA. In the long run though it would be lower than WWE. Now if your read Slade's RP, the section that refers to WWE is coming from the character's blog. Now this isn't so unrealistic because real wrestlers from say TNA will comment on WWE things all the time in some way.
This is my take on it for what it's worth.
